Charles du Marais
Executive Director / Founder
Charles du Marais is sole owner and founder of Aramis Capital (Europe) Ltd.
Previously, he started Aramis Capital SA in Switzerland in 2000. Parallel to his activities at Aramis Capital SA, he was a Partner at Banque Bonhôte & Cie SA, a traditional private bank, for 5 years, where he had acquired solid experience in fund management. Charles has also worked in the derivative products area, both in trading and marketing functions for over 14 years with leading financial institutions such as Bank Indosuez, now Credit Agricole, in New York and Tokyo, UBS in Tokyo and London, Sakura Bank, now SMBC, and AIG International in London.
Charles graduated with an MBA from the Columbia Business School in New York in 1986. He also holds a Master’s degree in Architecture and a post-graduate qualification in Civil Engineering.
André Darmanin
Managing Director
Andre Darmanin joined Aramis Capital (Europe) Ltd. in 2016 as General Manager of the company and was promoted to the position of Managing Director in 2022.
His previous professional experiences include the appointment as the Treasury Sales Manager at NBG Bank Malta Ltd. Andre was responsible for managing a portfolio of corporate and high net worth clients and also involved intrading FX and derivatives, investments and brokerage, and for the setting up of the bank’s custody operations. He started off his career with BMW Group AG where he was in charge of the Maltese treasury operation. Andre also has a working background in the trust and wealth management industry after working as a trust administration officer with a leading international wealth management group – Blevins Franks Trustees Ltd.
Andre graduated from the University of Malta with a degree in Banking and Finance Hons.
Julien Maréchal
Advisor
Julien Maréchal joined Aramis Capital S.A. in 2012 as Institutional Alternative Advisor.
Prior, Julien was part of the Société Générale hedge fund selection team. He started in the asset management industry as a sales assistant for Raiffeisen Capital Management where he was involved in the distribution of investment products ranging from absolute return funds, promoting long-only managers of equities and fixed income, as well as commodities.
Julien graduated from EDHEC Business School with a Master degree in Finance and Management.
